The Work
Making wonder and designing for empathy is embedded in everything I do. That means I employ human-centric design to activate your mission in the world. Innovation and creativity are at the heart; but my success is based on results -- of your visitor experience, your campaign, and your mission.

01
Avian Adventures
When the Raptor Center closed on March 18, 2020, Avian Home Adventures was born. This livestreamed program lasted for 70 episodes and then when the Raptor Center reopened in July 2020 the program morphed into Avian Adventures, a 26-episode series, streamed on our YouTube Channel and used by teachers, homeschoolers, and curious visitors all over the country. The show was aired by UNCC-TV in January-March 2022. Production was all done in house (producer, writer, filming, voiceover, and “talent”) at the Raptor Center with a volunteer editor.
02
Quest Tour of Homes
Fundraising for the Quest Capital Campaign took a nosedive early in the pandemic, and a creative solution was critical to introduce donors to the Raptor Center at Quest. The Quest Tour of Homes “sold” a new community of raptor enclosures out of the “Sales Center” at Quest to donors who were interested in getting a sneak peek of the new facility at Latta Nature Preserve “Quest” and the outline and amenities of the new Raptor Trail. Masked visitors swarmed the virtual and in person “tours” and the project kept interest alive and dollars flowing during difficult times.

03
Raptor Force Annual Fund Campaign
Based on the organization’s creative platform Birds Inspire, the Raptor Force Annual Fund Campaign referenced each bird’s superpower and asked donors to “Join Raptor Force.” A series of compelling graphic cartoons served to tie the organization more closely to its human constituents and encourage them to engage more deeply with the organization. This three-week campaign at the end of the fiscal year met aggressive fundraising goals, super-powered the brand, and energized the staff.

Tell Your Raptor Story Exhibition
In advance of the official groundbreaking for Quest, a new environmental education and outdoor adventure center in Huntersville, NC, members of the program team and key stakeholders brainstormed new exhibits for the Raptor Center at Quest. Tell Your Raptor Story was one of the first to be prototyped and will be the first to be built once funding becomes available.
04
Introducing an Andean Condor
In October 2021, the Raptor Center received a new ambassador bird from a trusted partner in Florida. But it wasn't a new hawk or even an eagle, it was an Andean Condor, the largest flighted bird in the world. Matilda or "Tillie" as she is called needed an introduction in style to the Charlotte community. This was an opportunity to reach out to a new community - the Latino community and invite them onto the Raptor Trail to meet a bird from home.
